Jasper was removed with a removal notice 12, 1/2 hours after birth from the hospital, without any concerns of my parenting from the hospital. dcp came up from berri riverland to the adelaide lyell mcewin hospital without any warning of coming up their to take jasper. again dcp diddnt give us the chance. and again we did nothing wrong, but our disability. |

Details of interaction | 1- department for child protection has never given us as parents a chance to parent 24/7 to our children, in the comfort of the home environment. over accusations of our Mild intellectual disability,- impacting on parenting capacity. 2-haven't been given the chance, to show that we could be capable, 24/7. 3- in society we function quite well, live independently can do stuff independently that most people can do.4- as a parent/ person we are more than a disability. 5-dcp need to get to know us as a person. 6- are not classified as disabled. 7-also very aware of challenges that may Arise, therefore we are soo determined to have support around those areas of challenges to help support parenting. have got it in place. councillor, once a fortnight, occupational therapist, via zoom chat weekly. developmental educator, via person fortnight.8- i know how to grab a phone and call a friend, family, developmental educator to talk through stuff with me if i do get stuck with something at home with my kid or do zoom chat, so they can see what's happening at the time. 9-are not afraid to reach out for it. all we need is support to have the kids..10-are very determined to be the best mother i can be to my kids, that sadly have never had the chance to fully parent in the comfort of my home environment. 11-only under The gaze of dcp worker, taking notes down. in an office,/ park. which is not how we deserve to parent the kids. we deserve to parent in comfort.,12- i have done everything asked of me by the department of child protection, still they are wanting to apply for a long term order over my baby Son- Jasper crispin. 13-when there is support, there is a reunification service, Ac care onboard dcp referred me to their in late september.14-i keep a great clean, safe home environment, have my babys room all set up, since before his birth on 1/6/2021. im not reluctant to support at all. we as parents take care of all our daily personal care tasks, /domestic tasks. ourselves. |
| 5g. This made me feel, example: angry, frustrated, terrified, disappointed, disempowered etc etc | all this has made me feel very angry, frustrated ,heartbroken and disempowered. also discriminated against as a parent. |

In my mind I was, example: confused, depressed, hopeless, trapped, had suicidal thoughts etc etc. | in my mind i feel very trapped, and hurt. we do not want to be defined by our mild intellectual learning disability. i am more than this. i am loving, caring, committed, determined parent, who just is willing to be the best parent i can be to my children and willing to be a full time parent, with the Non reluctance of engaging with support services. i deserve a chance and need to be given that chance. to show that i can do it as a parent. departments assumptions are not the real results. given a chance 24/7 as a parent is the real deal, to show dcp that we can or cant. its not fair when these assumptions are made because you have a mild intellectual learning disability. dcp write allegations down in court documents, going on about your disability ; regardless of you being provided a chance to pArent your child 24/7..for it to be proven |
